Designed to be displayed as dioramas, these glazed earthenware or stoneware pieces measure 30 to 50 cm. They symbolize the opposition between the constancy of Nature, represented by luxuriant vegetal elements and the ephemerality of the human condition through the presence of vanitas. Here, Man is part of Nature, he is one with it, has ceased in his vain attempt to dominate it and realizes, powerless, its strength, its vitality, that himself has lost.
